Our Board provides strategic direction and our Committees perform the day-to-day work to meet our annual goals.


Paula is an Education Specialist at Region 9 Education Service Center.  She is also an Occupational Therapist who is Board Certified in Pediatrics and holds a Specialty Certification in School Systems with the American Occupational Therapy Association.  Within the community, Paula has led numerous initiatives with the Junior League of Wichita Falls, the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank, and the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture.  Paula currently serves as a Board Member and the Governance Committee Chair of the Association of Junior Leagues International.

Liz is invested in the Wichita Falls area due to being raised and living here her entire life.  She went to Midwestern State University and received a Bachelors of Science degree.  After college she worked with an international glass company, Vetrotex Saint-Gobain, in technical and manufacturing management for 23 years.  After several years off, Liz began working for River Bend Nature Center as an executive director.  In her free time, she enjoys her husband, three grown children and two grandchildren.

Shelly was born and raised in Wichita Falls and is a graduate of Midwestern State University with a Bachelors degree in Humanities, a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and administration certification.  As a career educator, Shelly taught in WFISD middle schools and devoted much of her career to campus coordination efforts and events.  For nearly twenty years, Shelly has planned and led school trips throughout the U.S. and to London to broaden students’ horizons.  She is currently serving teachers and students as an Education Specialist at Region 9 Education Service Center.  She is married to Gary Cunningham, also a career educator, and has two daughters and a son-in-law.

Angela is a native of Wichita Falls with over 25 years of nonprofit experience.  She is married with two adult children and has extensive community involvement and professional experience in development, fundraising and community engagement.  In addition to her full time job at Hospice of Wichita Falls, she has served on various non-profit boards including the Junior League of Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Independent School District Partners in Education Advisory Board, and the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre.

Joey and her husband, Cameron, are both from Wichita Falls and knew they wanted to raise their family here.  They have two boys attending WFISD and participating in sports, music and Boy Scouts.  They are active members of First United Methodist Church.  Joey is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Wichita Falls, involved in school PTOs and booster clubs and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Boy Scouts of America.  She has been involved with several fundraising events and nonprofit activities through the years.

Christi is a native of Wichita Falls and graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education.  After coaching tennis and teaching math, she retired from the Wichita Falls Independent School District as Coordinator of Partners In Education.  Christi was Director of Education at University UMC and Finance Director of the Wesley Foundation.  She has served on the boards of the Junior League of Wichita Falls, Center for Non-Profit Management, Teens Make A Difference, City Council PTA, Childrens Center Board and Wesley Foundation.  Christi is married to Frank Farnsworth and has three children and two granddaughters.

Mary is a transplanted New Yorker who has lived in Wichita Falls for over 40 years.  After graduating from Midwestern State University and a brief stint in banking, she began volunteering in areas that revolved around her children and their activities.  Later, she became involved in civic and social organizations. Mary is a former member of the Norte Dame Catholic School Board and a past President of the Junior League as well as the Woman's Forum. She currently serves on the board for the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre and the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture.  She and her husband John, co-sponsor the Italian Air Force squadron stationed here through NATO.

Pam was born and raised in the Wichita Falls area.  She attended Midwestern State University and obtained a degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations.  For more than 25 years, Pam has served the community through various nonprofit roles.  She is currently the Director of Marketing and Development for THE Kitchen - Meals on Wheels.  Pam is also affiliated with the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Senior Junior Forum and Chamber of Commerce.  Her greatest blessings are her two children, Lexy and Colt.

Amber was born and raised in the Wichita Falls area.  She attended Midwestern State University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Marketing.  For the last 15 years, she has been working part-time and volunteering in the community - serving most recently as the President of the Junior League of Wichita Falls (2017-2018) and chairing positions on both the Barwise Middle School PTO and Ben Franklin Elementary PTA.  Amber also currently serves on the North Texas Area United Way Board and enjoys being involved in making our community a better place to live.  Amber and her husband, David, have 2 children, Hayden & Parker.

Debi was born and raised in Wichita Falls. She is a graduate of Mary Hardin Baylor with a degree in Music Education. Debi was a teacher for 10 years, and then in 2000, she made a career change and has been a financial advisor for Northwestern Mutual since.  She currently holds four designations, CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), RICP (Retirement Income Certified Professional) and CASL (Chartered Advisor for Senior Living). Debi has been a prominent fundraiser  with several  area nonprofits inclusive of Leadership WF and Dancing for the Stars and is currently serving on the Boards of  Crimestoppers and Peyton’s Project.  She has three adult daughters, a son-in-law, and three grandsons who all call Wichita Falls home.

Ashley Fitzwater

Ashley is a native of Wichita Falls and anchors the 5, 6, and 10p newscast at NewsChannel 6. She has worked at the station since 2002 and loves how the job allows her to connect with people in the community she calls home. Ashley accepted a board position with Partners in Education set to begin this Fall. She has also served on the board of Community In Schools, Texoma Business Women and volunteers her time in the WFISD through PTO and Read to Learn. Ashley and her husband have two kids and enjoy serving in leadership at their church. 



Ruth Jones

Ruth has worked professionally in the nonprofit world for over 15 years with expertise in fundraising, grant writing, donor relations and communications.  She received her Certified Fundraising Executive designation (CFRE) in 2015 and is a member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. Prior to her role as Director of Fund Development at Presbyterian Manor, Ruth was an assistant grants director at a private foundation and began her nonprofit career as the marketing director of a nationally affiliated nonprofit organization. Ruth currently serves on the Texoma Planned Giving Council board.



Leslie Schaffner

Leslie is a familiar face in the local nonprofit world with 30+ years of experience.  Leslie was named President/CEO of the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation in 2018, after 16 years with The Priddy Foundation.  She is a founding board member of the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, a co-founder of the annual Empty Bowls event to benefit the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank and is a past president of the Junior League of Wichita Falls.  Leslie and her husband, Alan, have two sons and two grandchildren.

Ivonne Wineinger

Ivonne was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She moved to The United States at the age of 21 to finish her degree in Business Administration at The University of Oklahoma. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which is where she alsomet her husband Keith. They moved back to Wichita Falls in 2008 and recently started a company called The Burn Shop. They have been successfully running the business together and enjoy staying involved with the community every way they can. Ivonne and Keith have two beautiful daughters, Hailey and Addison.
